Are you ready for the #HEROSessionChallenge?
Kid proof, dirt proof, waterproof; the HERO Session is our most rugged camera and it's ready for whatever life throws at it. But you already knew that
We saw the footage from your daredevil weekend cliff jumping, from that time you wiped out on your bike and when your neighbor's puppy used it as a chew toy. You have witnessed the Session's durability firsthand and this little camera hasn't let you down.
Time to kick it up a notch.
We're challenging you to take the HERO Session on your summer adventures and put it to the test. Get creative, get muddy and go where no camera has gone before.
Starting May 9th, we'll pose a new social challenge. We're giving you two weekends per challenge to get out, get dirty and share your best HERO Session photos and video with us.
Tune in to social every two weeks to find out what's up next (think - water, mud, kids and other adventures - places you would never take your iPhone!) Share your photos and videos content with us on Instagram and Twitter then submit to this GoPro Awards bucket.
Share your content for a chance to win any time between May 9th - July 17th and the winners will be announced on July 22nd.

#HEROSessionChallenge Round 1:
Time to get dirty. Mind out of the gutter! We're talking about heading up to the hills, driving to the mountains or kicking it in the backyard with your dog, kids and getting muddy. Share your best dirt + mud Session photos or videos with us by tagging #HEROSessionChallenge on Instagram and/or Twitter. Then submit to GoPro.com/Awards with HEROSession Challenge in the description where you could get hooked up with up to $5,000!
Easy. As if an excuse to get dirty wasn't enough, the prizes make it oh-so worth it.
What You Could Win:
1ST Place: GoPro Award (we're talking cash prizes for your photo or video) + Photo of the Day or Video of the Day feature on GoPro's Social Channels
2nd Place: Swag Bag filled with GoPro goodies up to $500 value (think mounts, beanies, and exclusive GoPro gear)
3rd Place: You call it. Heading to the mountains? Need a new SD card for your summer travel? You pick your preferred mount (1) and accessory (1) from GoPro.com up to $200 value
How to Enter:
1. Follow @GoPro on Instagram and Twitter for the weekly challenge and inspiration for your summer adventures.
2. Post on Instagram and/or Twitter with #HEROSessionChallenge (entries must include #HEROSessionChallenge for eligibility)
3. Submit your photo or video to GoPro Awards and include HEROSessionChallenge in the description
Pro Tips:
- For photos, mud + splashes are best captured using a Multi-Shot setting like Burst Mode.
- Editing video isn't your forte? Check out Quik and Splice to make the process easy.
- When it comes to music licensing - the struggle is real. Next time you're trying to add some tunes to that video edit, check out Quik's selection.
The Nitty Gritty Details:
- Contest Start: Monday, 5/9
- Contest End: Sunday, 7/17
- Winners Chosen and Announced: Friday, 7/22
- Winners will be chosen by GoPro based on content quality, creativity and enthusiasm
- Must use the hashtag #BEAHEROChallenge for eligibility
- Must post on Instagram and/or Twitter to be eligible
- If your camera is hurt or injured during our challenge period of 5/9 - 7/17 we will replace it
- Participation in this Contest constitutes entrants full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor's decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to this Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
