StarliteHD - Transvideos new on-board professional 3G-SDI field monitor the size of a smartphone 17 Mar 2014

Award-winning French monitor company Transvideo has furthered its commitment to Digital Cinematography by the launch of a new concept of on-board field monitor, StarliteHD.

With cameras reducing in size and portable systems becoming more and more compact, Transvideo has created a small 5 HD OLED monitor, about the size of a smartphone and weighting only 190 Grams. Despite its incredible small form factor StarliteHD is a professional high-end 3G-SDI field monitor. Built-in tools include a high-resolution waveform monitor and a precision vectorscope, while an embedded recorder delivers dailies in H.264 on to SD cards. Yet more features will be announced soon.

A new concept of human interface uses the power of the touch screen panel and rids the user of incomprehensible and endless tiered menus.

The housing is extremely rugged, machined in avionics aluminium a wide range of accessories is planned, from battery support to detachable sun hood and more.

Several patents are pending.

From 1985 onwards Transvideo has been creating products for the film industry. It designed the first professional flat panel monitor in 1990, and since then it has led the high-end on-board monitoring market, including metadata extraction from advanced lenses such as Cooke /i, Angenieux and ARRI LDS.

Transvideo is also active in avionics with several products used in Airbus aircraft such as the super air carrier A380 and also in the single aisle A32X family.

An Academy Award in 2009 and a Cinec Award in 2010 have recognized Transvideo for its innovation and superior engineering ability.

In June 2013, TRANSVIDEO, acquired AATON, the Cantar-X and camera manufacturer through its holding company ITHAKI.

While developing new products, AATON Digital provides service for existing products, including film cameras and audio recorders.
