Output value for large-scale industries at Hangzhou Bay New Zone exceeds 00 billion yuan

The Hangzhou Bay New Zone, in its seventh year for development and construction, has stepped onto a new stage for industrial economic development. Statistics show that in the first 11 months this year, the output value for large-scale industries at the new zone reached 100.14 billion yuan, up by 18.3% over the same period of last year, and accounted for over 84% of the total industrial output value (119.2 billion yuan) of the new zone.

Last year, the yearly industrial output value of Hangzhou Bay New Zone exceeded 100 billion yuan, while this year, it only took 11 months for that of the large-scale industries to break the 100 billion mark. Besides the rising output value, the industrial structure has been optimized. "The changes of the structure can be seen clearly from the following two cases: the output value of the large-scale industries accounts for 84% of the total, and the top six advanced manufacturing industries account for 78.8% of the large-scale industries." said a person in charge from the Administrative Committee of Hangzhou Bay New Zone.

The project of the Ningbo branch of Shanghai Volkswagen, once the top one project of the new zone, has become the top one contributor to its brisk industrial economy. In the first 11 months, 277,000 cars were produced from this leading factory, with a total output value of 36.1 billion yuan. Meanwhile, the car body workshop and pressing workshop have been put into construction. With the scheduled operation of the project, it will become the only production base for the first medium and large SUV model of Shanghai Volkswagen. In addition, the Geely whole-vehicle project, with an investment of 13 billion yuan, has been well under way since its launching in April this year, and has come to the pile foundation construction stage.

The clustering of the large enterprises and large projects has led to the development of the large industries. So far, there are over 100 car parts manufacturers at the new zone, forming a whole industrial chain integrating whole-vehicle production, sales, services, research, detection and logistics. In the first ten months this year, four car-related supporting enterprises realized an output value of over one billion yuan, and four enterprises doubled their output value compared with that of last year.

Likewise, such advanced manufacturing industries as new materials and smart electrical equipment have developed with the large enterprises and large projects. Recently, the product standard drafted by Ningbo Xingye Shengtai Group has approved by the "Made in Zhejiang" Brand Construction Promotion Committee. This is the second industrial standard at the new zone besides the cooker hood manufacturing standard of Fotile Kitchenware. Despite the gloomy situation of the industries, the two companies have maintained their growth with large research input and advanced talent construction, and the output value of both exceeded four billion yuan.
