Popular actress Nompilo Maphumulo, who is known for her Uzalo character as Nosipho has rubbished reports by fans that she's pregnant in real life.

NOMPILO MAPHUMULO: I'M VERY MUCH NOT PREGNANT' The Durban-based actress Nompilo Maphumulo, whose character Nosipho is pregnant with Mondli's baby and engaged to Pastor Gwala in Uzalo says there's no bun in the oven.

I think the fake tummy that I'm wearing on set looks real and I portray a role of a pregnant woman well. That's why people think I'm really pregnant. I'm very much not pregnant. There's no bun in the oven here.

Maphumulo, who's been with the SABC1 soapie since season one also reveals that there's no actor who's on a show.

Uzalo released me because it was time for me to leave. I'm the luckiest actress. If I'm not mistaken, we are less than five actors who started when Uzalo debuted on TV screens in 2015. So, everyone has their time. I had my time and it was a wonderful experience. I worked with a wonderful crew and learned a lot about acting. Now it's my time to bow out.

UZALO' RELEASES MENZI BIYELA The talented actress Nompilo Maphumulo also tells Daily Sun that she laughs off the pregnancy rumours on social media.

I just laugh off the question. But I'm glad people are asking. I hate specualtions and lies.

Maphumulo also confirms her on-screen fianc Menzi Biyela, who plays Pastor Gwala is also leaving the show.

Exiting storylines are usually emotional. There's a lot that will happen between Nosipho and Pastor Gwala before they go. This includes lobola negotiations. The storyline is getting interesting every day.
