IBC 2026: Trusted Partner Network Debuts Fix It or Risk It to Tackle Everyday Security Risks

The Trusted Partner Network (TPN), the global content security initiative powered by the Motion Picture Association (MPA), today launched Fix It or Risk It, a non-commercial campaign designed to help the entertainment industry recognize everyday security risks and take practical action before small vulnerabilities become bigger problems.

Launching at IBC2026, the campaign comes at a time of increasing security activity across the media and entertainment supply chain. As of June 2026, the number of TPN security alerts was already more than double the total recorded during all of 2025.

Security incidents often begin with ordinary moments: a stolen password, missing multi-factor authentication, an unpatched system, or a configuration error that goes unnoticed. Fix It or Risk It helps organizations identify these risks and act on them through a free online toolkit featuring practical guidance, policy templates, training, media resources, and a free gap analysis.

Available free of charge at www.fixitorriskit.org, the Fix It or Risk It toolkit organizes actions by level of effort, helping freelancers and organizations of any size focus first on straightforward, no-cost actions that can deliver significant security benefits, before moving on to improvements requiring more coordination or longer-term planning.

Cybersecurity can feel complex, expensive and difficult to tackle, particularly for smaller organizations, says Terri Davies, President of TPN. Fix It or Risk It is about making the next step clearer. Many meaningful improvements are achievable with relatively little cost or effort, and this campaign gives organizations practical ways to get started.

Fix It or Risk It is supported by a growing group of Fix It Partners helping extend the campaign across the global media and entertainment community. TPN will bring Fix It or Risk It to the stage at IBC2026 through three panel sessions exploring the security challenges facing the media and entertainment supply chain and highlighting practical actions organizations can take to reduce everyday risk:
