SportsNet Pittsburgh (SNP) in partnership with Major League Baseball and the Pittsburgh Pirates have announced the second annual live Spanish-language Pirates telecast in celebration of Roberto Clemente Day. El d a de Roberto Clemente: Los Piratas en espa ol, scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 15, will honor the enduring impact of the Hall of Famer, humanitarian and Puerto Rican icon through a dedicated game presentation for Spanish-speaking fans.
Roberto Clemente Jr. will return to the booth for the game against the National League-leading Milwaukee Brewers, joined by former MLB player Carlos Baerga. The telecast will also feature guest appearances from World Series champion catcher Mart n Maldonado and likely future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols.
Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m., with first pitch set for 6:40 p.m. The special production will be available throughout Pirates territory on SNP+ and the SNP360 streaming app. The broadcast will be available to out-of-market viewers on MLB.TV, with additional distribution through international partners.
Roberto Clemente's example continues to resonate far beyond the baseball field, says David Wisnia, President and CEO of NESN and SportsNet Pittsburgh. SNP is proud to help bring his story, his values and the energy of Roberto Clemente Day to more fans through this broadcast.
Building on the inaugural Spanish-language Pirates broadcast in 2025, this year's presentation brings together voices from across baseball to recognize Clemente's extraordinary standard of excellence, service and cultural significance. The program will incorporate stories, perspectives and moments that reflect the connection between Clemente, the Pirates organization, Pittsburgh and Latino communities around the world.
Roberto Clemente Day is observed annually across Major League Baseball in tribute to the Pirates legend, a 15-time All-Star, Hall of Famer and humanitarian whose commitment to helping others remains central to his legacy. Clemente died on December 31, 1972, while accompanying a relief mission delivering aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua.
