Quality of Service - Service View - Service Management Dimetis finalizes successful Project of new SR DVB-T MUX and renewal of SWR DVB-T-Headend Dietzenbach, May 22, 2015 - For many years now the Germany TV station S dwestrundfunk (SWR) trusts in Dimetis BOSS BROADCAST Manager for the management of its Multiplex-Center. BOSS represents Broadcast Operation Support System.

During the latest project all hardware for the creation of three DVB-T multiplexes was renewed and one additional multiplex for Saarl ndischen Runkfunks (SR) went live. Those four multiplexes are created with 4 services each. Some of the programmes are part of more than one multiplex. That was the reason not to choose statistic multiplexing but variable bit rate of free running encoders. The Multiplexer creates the 4 multiplexes from the streams via transrating. An 1+1 redundancy architecture provides the required system security.

The existing Operation Support System BOSS BROADCAST Manager monitors and controls all devices of the new Multiplex-Center. It indicates the system s state at any time by pre-defined displays or on active requests. When failures occur the backup-switching mode activates backup devices automatically. BOSS BROADCAST Manager supports SWR with service management tasks in its role as a service provider for SR.

BOSS Stream Viewer is an integrated multi viewer solution for monitoring of DVB standards on content level. It displays live the output signals and their respective QoS parameter of the four multiplexes.
