Kochi, Keralam, India, October 17, 2026 - Dolby Laboratories (NYSE: DLB), a leader in immersive entertainment experiences, and EVM Cinemas today announced the launch of Keralam's first Dolby Cinema at EVM Cinemas in Fort Kochi, Kochi. Marking the fifth Dolby Cinema in India, the new auditorium brings together Dolby's advanced sight and sound innovations with a specially designed cinema environment, offering audiences in Keralam a truly unique and transformative way to experience movies on the big screen.

The 450-seater Dolby Cinema auditorium opens to the public soon, with the release of several anticipated movies in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The launch marks another step in Dolby's continued expansion of premium immersive theatrical experiences across India and brings Dolby Cinema to Keralam, a state with a long-standing connection to cinematic storytelling.

The Dolby Cinema auditorium at EVM Cinemas has been designed around the Dolby Cinema experience, bringing together the subtle details and ultravivid colours of Dolby Vision, the immersive sound of Dolby Atmos and a specially designed cinema environment. Dolby Vision brings the characters to life with darker darks, brighter brights, and a remarkable colour range you can't get anywhere else, while Dolby Atmos offers sound in incredible clarity that actually moves all around you, bringing you deeper into the story. This ultimate combination is so lifelike - you don't just see and hear the movie - you feel all the story.

The cinema's design complements the technical innovations with a wall-to-wall-to-ceiling screen, carefully engineered acoustics and an environment specially designed to minimize distractions. From sightlines and seating to sound distribution, each element is added to provide a consistent and immersive cinematic viewing, offering audiences a true best seat in the house experience.

With the opening of EVM Cinemas in Fort Kochi, Keralam's first Dolby Cinema brings Dolby's immersive movie-going experience to audiences in the region. The launch reinforces Dolby's continued focus on advanced cinematic experiences beyond India's major metropolitan centres and strengthens EVM Cinemas' commitment to delivering world-class theatrical experiences to moviegoers.

Michael Archer, Vice President, Cinema Sales and Partner Management, Dolby Laboratories says, Bringing Dolby Cinema to Keralam is an important milestone in our journey to expand premium immersive cinematic experiences across India. Kochi is a natural addition to our growing Dolby Cinema footprint, given the region's strong connection with cinema and its audiences' appreciation for compelling storytelling. With EVM Cinemas, we are excited to bring together Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and the Dolby Cinema environment to offer audiences in Keralam an unparalleled new way to experience movie on the big screen.

Mr. Jose Mathew, Managing Director, EVM Cinemas, commented, Bringing Keralam's first Dolby Cinema to Kochi is a proud milestone for EVM Cinemas. Having introduced Keralam's first Dolby Atmos screen in 2014, this launch is a natural extension of our longstanding commitment to innovations and experiences. With Dolby Cinema, we are pleased to further elevate the cinematic experience with the quality and attention to detail that audiences have come to expect from EVM.

The launch adds to the growing availability of content in Dolby for theatrical audiences worldwide. More than 930 theatrical features have been released or confirmed for release in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos globally, including all of the top 20 highest-grossing films worldwide in 2025 and many more. Indian audiences have also experienced major titles in Dolby, including RRR, Pushpa 2: The Rule, Game Changer, Babhubali Epic, War 2, Kantara, Raja Saab, Border 2, Peddi, and Toxic.

The addition of EVM Cinemas in Fort Kochi further expands Dolby Cinema's global footprints. In India, the launch represents another step in Dolby's efforts to make premium theatrical experiences accessible to audiences across a wider range of markets.
