When Winter Storm Jonas recently swept through the Northeastern U.S. and made history as the heaviest snowstorm on record for a handful of cities, virtually everyone in the storm's range was snowed in - including area news reporters. But thanks to TVU Networks' TVU Anywhere video app, the reporters of Richmond, VA.'s WRIC news stations were able to report the news right from their own front doors.
Designed to turn portable smart devices or laptops instantly into transmitters, the TVU Anywhere app enabled the station's 8News team to successfully broadcast conditions in local Virginia subdivisions during the storm. The TVU Anywhere app is ready to quickly shoot in the field using only a smartphone or laptop. Designed to capture breaking news and events as they happen, TVU Anywhere users can instantly capture and transmit footage from anywhere at anytime. Featuring an easy-to-use interface, operators can simply open the application and start transmitting video at a moment's notice.
Reporting from around the Richmond area, 8News team members were able to report on the current snow conditions using TVU Anywhere. As the crew shot video from their respective neighborhoods in the early aftermath of the storm, the video footage was transmitted back to WRIC's station for broadcasting.
