Smart Manufacturing Upgrades Economic Grow

Equipped with top-notch machines from abroad, a new self-designed production line is working with all guns blazing in a workshop of Xingyeshengtai Group. Introduced from Germany at the cost of 600 million yuan, the production line is designed for the mass production of high-end lead frame materials. At present, it can produce 1 500-1 800 tons of lead frames per month and the processing fee is about 20 thousand yuan per ton. Since the mass production began in June, the demand for lead frames has outstripped supply.

When an alloy embryo heated to 1000 passes through the annealing furnace, which was bought from Austria at the cost of 100 million yuan, it will be cooled to room temperature in just a few seconds and then be sent for cold rolling. During the process, characteristics of the alloy is preserved as much as possible, which ensures the high performance of the products.

Aiming to develop smart factories and digitized workshops, Xingyeshengtai set up a technology centre with over 50

researchers and spent more than 3% of its sales on research & development. From January to November, the gross output of Xingyeshengtai was 4.25 billion yuan, rising by 35% compared with the corresponding period last year. And the profit increased by 66%.

Intelligent manufacturing has become a new normal of advanced manufacturing in Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New Area. As the

leading smart factory for industry 4.0 of Volkswagen, SAIC Volkswagen Ningbo Plan is the first VW factory that applies MQB.

Its press shop is equipped with two automatic press machine lines, which are the fastest in global automobile industry. Geely Automobile Hangzhou Bay Engine Factory has developed Apps for the monitoring and management in every stage of the production.

Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New Area is the first Made in China 2025'pilot project of Ningbo. We need to give full

expression to the strength and important role of smart economy if we are to build the zone into a national model of smart economy and incubator for innovation in Yangtze River Delta, said Liang Qun, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Ningbo Committee and secretary of Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New Area Working Committee.

Fotile Group spends 5% of its revenue on R&D of products and technology. It now boasts 868 patents, 180 of which are

invention patents. The annual avenue of the group is estimated to exceed 8 billion yuan in 2016, increasing by 25% compared with last year. And the profit and tax will increase by 30%. With a 45% market share Fotile ranks first in the industry of highend kitchen electrics in China.

Platforms Generate New Economic Growth Recently, intelligent industrial park, a new platform for innovation and entrepreneurship built by Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New Area, has opened. It will be a park specializing in intelligent industries including smart cars, wearable equipment, service robots, mobile medical equipment. And High-tech enterprises are welcome to set branches in the park.

The new platform can generate new opportunities. As one of the leading platforms in Zhejiang, the park need to act as an innovation incubator, creating new momentum for the development of the New Area.

The intelligent industrial park function as not only a platform for high-tech industries but also one for innovation and entrepreneurship.

As the first innovation & entrepreneurship platform, Research Institute of Fudan University in Ningbo is home to 50 projects.

On the opening day of Entrepreneurial Park of Hangzhou Bay New Area in June, over 20 enterprises settled in the park. There are 165 people engaged in 31 projects in the e-design block of the park at present. Ningbo government plans to introduce 15 more talents, 60 more teams of innovation and entrepreneurship and hundreds of enterprises into the park within 3 years.

Meanwhile, local government makes great efforts to accelerate the development of innovative industries in the New Area and create a healthy business environment for innovation and entrepreneurship by issuing favorable policies and setting up special funds.

After two years' preparation, automobile smart town, whose main part is Greely - Volvo China Design and Testing Center is now being declared. It is another important platform for innovation with total investment of 6.2 billion yuan. Nearly 5 000 researchers has carried out researches on the project. The annual revenue of the project is estimated to reach 2 billion yuan when it is fully functional.

Guided by the idea that we need to promote public service platforms where the potential of innovation can be released,

where everyone can get involved in innovation and entrepreneurship and where public innovation resources can be shared, a great number of industrial platforms has generated new momentum for the development of the New Area.

As cross-border integration has been a new normal of China's economy, the new types of businesses it brings play an

important role in economic growth.

park of Ningbo huaqiang project with total investment of 12.6 billion yuan. In the park, we can see the integration of
