E-commerce in Ningbo blooms

Ningbo has taken the lead in the transformation and upgrading of the e-commerce sector. At the beginning of this year, Ningbo was selected as one of the second group of comprehensive experimental zones for cross-border e-commerce, which started the citys focus transfer to the cross-border e-commerce. Instead of focusing on the traditional B2C (business to consumer) model, it will develop both B2B(business to business) and B2C. To realize the target, Ningbo will foster 20 industrial bases for cross-border e-commerce foreign trade, 30 comprehensive service platform enterprises involved in cross-border e-commerce and 50 public overseas storehouses.

The construction of the comprehensive experimental zone leads to the accelerated development and breakthroughs of the functional zones and e-commerce parks. With its own "2018 planning", and based on its title of "well-known domestic brands demonstration zone for cross-border e-commerce", Ningbo Bonded Zone aims to promote the clustering of the major projects, accelerate the branching of its business, and strengthen the service supports in finance, talents, logistics and information. According to the plan, the zone will achieve a total cross-border e-commerce volume of US$4.5 in 2018, turning it into a healthy and sustainable cross-border e-commerce ecological circle.

Ningbo E-commerce Economy Innovation Park is also developing B2B. It will accelerate the docking work of such major projects as the Alibaba cross-border e-commerce talents incubation center and Alibaba cross-border B2B supply chain, and according to the plan, 50 projects or enterprises will be introduced. In addition, 100 foreign trade companies from the park have been selected to be the pilots for Ningbo Customs cross-border e-commerce export, which will promote the growth of the cross-border B2B export business of the innovation park.
