Arqiva holds its first Safety, Heal and Environment Week

As a national infrastructure company, Arqiva has a responsibility to ensure its people out in the field fully understand and comply with the relevant safety regulations. The SHE Week which took place at the beginning of November was an opportunity to highlight the importance health and safety for everyone, while also showing how decisions made in the office can impact others in the delivery chain.

The aim of Arqiva SHE Week was to ensure we all get home safe', so it was apt that one of the key themes was driving. This is something that affects most people at Arqiva, whether they're driving to jobs or client meetings or simply driving home. As part of the event, we had former police officer Alan Rogers on-site to discuss safe driving and things to consider when out on the road.

It didn't stop at driving; there were various sessions designed to help staff better look after their own physical and mental health and wellbeing.

The week provided everyone at Arqiva with the opportunity to start conversations, share views and collaborate on ways to improve day-to-day processes all helping to make for a better working environment. The project was a major success, and by the end, employees and contractors had the tools and knowhow to go about their days more safely, and to understand how their actions could influence others around them.

The company's Head of Safety, Health and Environment, Sally Ford, said:

It was great to see so many different people participate in the activities held during SHE week. Across the country nearly every team got involved with something and helped share information and hold discussions to promote Safety and Health at work.
