Pnger flow of Nignbo Airport exceeds seven million

At 13.10 of November 22, the flight MU2010 arrived at Ningbo Airport from Taoyuan Airport of Taipei, bringing the 7 millionth passenger in 2016 to Ningbo Lishe international Airport.

Since the beginning of this year, the passenger flow to Ningbo Airport has grown rapidly, and it reached seven million on November 22, exceeding that of the whole year of 2015. Over one million passengers, that is, one out of seven passengers on average, are from or to international areas, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan. The proportion is much higher than the average level of the other domestic airports, showing a strong passenger transportation capacity of Ningbo Airport.

With the objectives of building an international healthy airport and constructing the national airport economic demonstration zone, Ningbo Airport has launched the campaign for strengthening passenger and freight transportation this year. With such factors of the exhibitions, tourism, activities and summer vacation, the airport has maintained a high-speed growth of passenger flow. Statistics show that in the first ten months, Ningbo airport received 53,000 flights, with 6.525 million passengers and the freight throughput of 84,000 tons, up by 14.6%, 13.8% and 36.0% respectively. The airport ranks No.1 among all the airports in East China area in terms of freight throughput, and its passenger flow of the year will exceed 7.7 million.

Faced with the ever-increasing demand for passenger transportation, Ningbo Airport has actively coordinated with the airlines to add new flights and increase the coverage and density of the flight network, providing more convenience for passengers. Besides introducing new flights, the airport improves effectively the passenger load rate by cooperating with other facilities to launch some tourist products at discount and air-railway transport. So far, there are 45 airlines in operation at the airport, 92 domestic and international routes to 77 cities. Statistics from the inspection station of the airport show that in the first ten months, the inbound and outbound passengers at the airport reached 967,000 people, up by 12.7%, including 444,000 international passengers, up by 30.4%. The freight throughput to international cities and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan maintained a blowout increase, with the volume exceeding 27,000 tons, up by 105% over the same period of last year. Since the beginning of thsi year, Ningbo Airport has introduced such cargo airlines as Unitop-air, Yangtze Express and China Cargo Airlines, and launched the cargo flights to Dacca, Osaka and Amsterdam. The cargo capacity of the regular flight to Dacca reached 102.9 tons, setting a new record for single cargo flight load at Ningbo Airport. There are five cargo flights to Osaka, being the first direct cross-border e-commerce route in China. The cargo flight to Amsterdam is the first cross-continent cargo flight route at the airport. So far, there have been ten all-cargo flight routes for the airport, including five to international cities, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan.
