Screen Busine Survey

We are once again calling on industry to help us set the agenda in our fourth Annual Screen Business Survey.

This year's survey has an increased focus on policy and industrial priorities whilst continuing to benchmark overall business confidence. We want to hear from you, whether you are an employer or an employee, an emerging or established practitioner, working in production, production services, broadcasting, distribution, exhibition or in a screen agency.

Responses are due by close of business on Thursday, 12 May 2016. All answers will be treated confidentially and only used in aggregate.

In May 2016, Screen Producers Australia and other industry partners released our joint policy priorities. Amongst them we are calling on Government to ensure secure, sufficient and transparent funding for ABC, SBS and Screen Australia as well as ambitious and deliverable policies to address the lack of competitive tax offsets and obligations for Netflix and other SVOD platforms that will be critical to our industry's ongoing health and success.

In a challenging advertising market and with increased pressure, it is understandable that the industry will need to reflect on the regulatory regime going forward and to consider in what areas there may need to be more flexibility. However, this must be done with caution so as not to upset the careful balance that has ensured that there has been significant investment in local content by commercial free-to-air and great Australian stories to be enjoyed by Australian audiences.

As we look to refine priorities during the election campaign, into the next budgetary cycle and beyond we want to hear from you.
