The Aragonese Director Paula Ortiz will be honored with the Ciudad de Huesca award of the 44th Edition of the International Film Festival of altoaragonesa capital.
Reconnaissance seeks to highlight the talent of this young filmmaker from the world of the film, essence of the Huesca appointment, and will be delivered during the celebration of the next contest. Recent months have led to the endorsement of the hard work of more than 15 years; his last work, The brideIt has won national and international critics as well as being honored with six fierce Awards, four medals CEC and two Goya Award among other multiple honors. The competition prepares a special programme that will cover much of his filmography.
"Paula began in the world of the film where treasures great works and with his two long earned the respect and admiration of all the profession, this is only the beginning and the Festival wants to support this fact," explains Azucena Garanto, Director of the competition.
The Festival itself had the privilege of being, two years ago, the framework where arose the filming of his latest film, The bridethat since it premiered at the San Sebastian Festival, it has not stopped accumulate recognitions and awards.
The Festival prepared on the occasion of this tribute special programming that will cover much of his filmography. Between 17 and 25 June you will see in any room of his short films. For his latest work, the acclaimed adaptation of Lorca Bodas de SangreHuesca appointment has prepared a special screening in collaboration with IAM (Aragonese Institute for women). The actress protagonist, Inma Cuesta, and the Aragonese Luisa Gavasa achieved several awards that demonstrate the quality of their work but at the same time the mastery of Paula in her direction.

Goya Awards placed it as the maximum favorite with a total of twelve nominations which finally manages to two.
