CGSociety Workshop: Biomedical Imaging in D

On February 10, 2017, CGWorkshops is starting an online course where Cinema 4D users can learn important techniques for visualizing molecules, blood cells and DNA stands. This course is ideal for anyone who creates biomedical visualizations. Georgio Luciano's experience as a researcher and long-standing work as a forum leader at CGSociety offer an outstanding foundation for this course.

This English-language course is well-suited for beginners and no previous 3D visualization skills are required.

This course starts with an introduction to the Cinema 4D interface and with the modeling of a simple molecule. In the 2nd week, Georgio will cover the interaction of light and materials as well as rendering, and will discuss the most common mistakes that are made when designing biomedical visualizations.

In the 3rd week, course participants will learn how to add effects such as subsurface scattering to create realistic-looking surfaces for organic objects. Georgio will also explain how to use shaders and how to create a material library.

After the 3-week introduction phase, Georgio will demonstrate how to model blood cells, viruses and bacteria as well as more complex items such as strands of DNA.

At the end of this 8-week course, participants will, for example, have the skills needed to create title graphics for scientific periodicals and will also have a variety of images for their own portfolios.
