2014 NAB Show to Reveal Production Processes Behind the Winter Olympics Broadcast Engineering Conference and Key Super Sessions to Address Latest Trends in Media Assets, Distribution and Production WASHINGTON, D.C. -- NAB Show, the worlds largest annual conference and expo for professionals who create, manage and distribute entertainment across all platforms, will host sessions and panels devoted to the increasingly critical topic for all producers of content: the future of media asset management, storage and archiving in the quickly-shifting digital world. The convention takes place April 5 - 10 in Las Vegas.

NAB Show Super Sessions focused on media asset management include Sochi Reflections: Olympic-Sized Production Lessons That Can Apply to Everyone on Monday, April 7. The session will feature key players in the production of the Sochi Winter Olympics, who will share how they managed their workflows and content delivery during one of the most complex sports productions in history. On Wednesday, April 9, the Super Session Advanced Video Technologies - Visions of the Future will feature a panel of experts discussing the future of video compression technology, holographic presentations and the demands of video capture, storage and distribution.

The proliferation of digital content and distribution have made asset management and archiving more important than ever before, said Chris Brown, executive VP for Conventions and Business Operations at NAB. NAB Show delivers a unique opportunity for content professionals to explore how they can leverage the complex nature of digital archiving and storage.

The Broadcast Engineering Conference (BEC), which addresses the latest opportunities and challenges that face broadcast engineering professionals worldwide, will also feature several sessions on media asset management. During the BEC session Intelligent File-Based Processing: Cost-effective, Efficient Tools for Broadcasters on Wednesday, April 9, attendees will learn how the addition of intelligence to automated transformation processes, via metadata extraction and indexing, can enable broadcasters to maximize the quality of their assets and outputs cost-effectively. On Thursday, April 10, BEC will feature a session titled Phonetic-Based Search of Dialogue: The Key to Unlocking an Archives Potential, which will demonstrate how detailed, precise media descriptions can change how organizations discover and use archived assets.
