JENA/Germany, INCHEON/South Korea, 17.05.2018. In mid-May, the Sunhark ByeolBit city library in Incheon, Korea, was equipped with a ZEISS powerdome fulldome system. ZEISS has developed the ZEISS powerdome software capable of combining six partial images from six digital projectors to create a dazzling display on the dome. The video projections make it possible to visualize astronomical objects in real time and show fulldome films on the 12 m dome. The system was delivered with the optimized program WorldWide Telescope for dome projection. It enables visitors to embark on a journey through the solar system and beyond, exploring interstellar and galactic realms. The technology from ZEISS will help students in particular to understand the cosmos and showcase the beauty of the universe, says Head of Planetariums Martin Kraus.
The city library in the district of Yeonsu-gu, whose name means starlight, is a new building constructed on previously unused land. I am delighted to see both books and extraordinary scientific films at the library, says Mayor of Incheon Yoo Jung-bok. Students can now study the night sky and the entire universe.
