ELeague launches on SuperSport with live cross-platform coverage --

With competitive gaming growing in popularity, SuperSport has signed up to broadcast ELeague, featuring 18 elite Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams from around the globe competing over 10 weeks from a state-of-the-art arena in Atlanta.

Debuting this week, the league is offering a staggering $1,2-million in prize money for the season.

International teams include among them Mousesports, Luminosity Gaming, Virtus.pro, Team Liquid and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

ELeague is at the forefront of eSport and we re looking forward to charting this new frontier on both digital and television platforms, said Gideon Khobane, CEO of SuperSport. Our debut broadcast of eSport earlier this year was very well received throughout the gaming community. Over 200 million people watch eSport annually we hope to add to that impressive number.

The early-week action (Monday to Thursday) will be streamed live on the SuperSport website with the final nights of each week s league play being broadcast live on SuperSport from the US early on Saturday mornings.

The competition runs through June and July and concludes with the global championship on 30 July 2016.
