Super Night for CBS at Sports Emmys and Verne Lundquist; Fox Takes Home 0 Emmys, While ESPN Wins 9

The 37th Annual Sports Emmy Awards were held tonight at the Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City and it was a night less about big winners and more about honoring the great accomplishments of the past 12 months. All of the top production teams from across the networks had a chance to step to the stage (most notably the CBS Sports team for its work on Super Bowl 50). And maybe that was for the best as it allowed Verne Lundquist's lifetime achievement award to be the true highlight of the evening, honoring a career that has made a Lundquist a part of every American sports fan's TV viewing experience and memories.

The final Emmy count was Fox with 10; ESPN with nine; NBC with seven; CBS with four; HBO with five; TNT and MLB Network with three each; NFL Films with two; and Univision and Showtime with one each.
