SOMMER CABLE simplifies media control by integrable pushbutton modules
SOMMER CABLE, the leading supplier of professional cable and connection technology in the audio & video sector, is presenting their latest development at the InfoComm 2016: the compact pushbutton modules of the CARDINAL DVM series. The new pushbutton modules make media control easy, especially in situations where an operation directly on the device is either too complicated or not possible.
It's been our goal to develop a convenient, economically priced and yet high-quality controller solution for devices and media. With the quad pushbutton modules of the CARDINAL DVM series we've hit the nail on the head. Whether you have integrated a single beamer under the ceiling or a big media controller in a data cabinet, it won't matter any more. For with our pushbutton module the direct operation is now performed by a single push of a button , as SOMMER CABLE's Key Account & Distribution Manager Peter Rieck points out.
As of now the new pushbutton modules are available intwo variants:
A passive version with a very wide input voltage range from 3.3 V to 36 V for the LEDs and four floating buttons - connectable via a 4-pole plug-in clamp connection -, and also an RS232 version with a built-in mini media controller.
The RS232 model version can be cascaded with up to 16 modules on the same bus using standard CAT5 or CAT6 network cables. The maximum bus length is 25 meters with an AWG24 line. Programming is done via a USB connection by means of an intuitive PC software.
Due to an already implemented instruction set, an integration with the CARDINAL DVM-194-CON media controller is equally possible as with virtually all other solutions available on the market.
