The Limpopo songstress Pleasure Peta aka Pleasure Tsa Manyalo's song Ke Lorile was nominated for Thobela FM's Song of The Year in December 2022.

PLEASURE PETA: IT WAS JUST AN ORDINARY SONG' The Ga-Mphahlele singer Pleasure Peta's song Ke Lorile came second to King Monada's Aye Kua and was the first Manyalo song nominated in the category. Peta tells Drum Magazine that this came when she least expected it.

It was just any other ordinary song. I only wanted to spread the message to people that they mustn't give up on their dreams because there's a powerful God who knows all our heart's desires and what our aspirations are in life. So, most of the time when I write songs, I want them to have an impact on people's lives.

She adds she wanted to encourage those who felt discouraged to keep their heads high with the song Ke Lorile.

Because our God is alive and He can see through us. Ke Lorile was supposed to be on our last album Ntshike ka diatla vol 13. I wrote the song in 2021 but because I have too many songs, I chose to not release it and see it the year after.

The popular song topped Twitter trends and fans had a difficult choice to make when they had to vote for the song of the year in Limpopo.

SECURING SECOND SPOT IN SONG OF THE YEAR WAS A MIRACLE' The popular singer Pleasure Peta also tells Drum Magazine that she is grateful to have broken the record by having a Manyalo song nominated.

It is such a miracle, I didn't expect such to happen honestly but I always say to people that the one who controls my life, is Jesus Christ, my saviour. I believe that when the time is right, God will make things happen.

Wedding songs all the time did not ring in the New Year and for the first, it competed when it comes to that subject. I am so proud, this is a very huge achievement for me because it has never been done before which means I am the first to do it, says the grateful singer.

I am so afraid of Twitter because people ruffle each other the wrong way, so I log into it once in a while. I was happy that day when my social media person sent me a screenshot to alert me. It was a miracle for me. It was the best day ever to see a song trending that much, indeed it showed that there was no party without Ke Lorile and I am still happy with the achievement.

The singer writes her songs based on experience and some of the problems that women face in marriages.

So I write about things that happen to people daily, I do not just write and sing. So before I got into the studio for Ke Lorile, it was because someone felt discouraged. After all, no matter how hard they tried to make things work or prove themselves, things didn't go in their favour. I then came up with the song to alert people that it all takes God's timing which is always perfect.
