eNCA announces changes to strengthen news coverage --

eNCA has announced a strategic plan to strengthen the news coverage and grow their online presence at eNuus. The changes will be effective from 1 June 2016.
Andries Cornelissen, currently the eNuus news director, will head a special project to build their Afrikaans online presence. The channel believes eNuus Online will be an important part of their media offering, alongside the highly successful eNCA website.
Veteran broadcaster, Freek Robinson will step in as acting eNuus director of news in the interim. Robinson has been a full-time current affairs anchor and executive producer since 1991. He was appointed main anchor when eNuus started in July 2010 and he is also the anchor of the current affairs programme Robinson on kykNET.
Mike Siluma, eNCA s manager for stakeholder relations, will become International and Africa editor for eNCA and eNCA.com. Siluma, a highly experienced editor, will oversee the coverage of global affairs, with a special focus on the coverage of the Africa continent. Siluma will also be doing political-economy coverage for the station, giving the channel the advantage of his considerable knowledge and skills in this key area.
Siluma s career spans nearly 30 years, most of them as a journalist and editor in both the print and electronic media. He is a former editor of Sowetan and a previous chairperson of the SA National Editors Forum and the National Association of Broadcasters.
We are excited about the new appointments on eNCA and we believe that the teams experience and seniority will be pivotal in driving this expansion project, said Mapi Mhlangu channel news director.
