Barco and Getinge strengthen their partnership to improve operating room workflows Kortrijk, 17 November 2021 - With the introduction of Getinge's new Tegris 6.0 integration system, Barco and Getinge strengthen their global partnership in the market of Digital OR solutions. Both companies are joining forces to enable uncompressed, high-resolution video and audio sharing in and between operating rooms and therefore to reduce complexity in today's operating room set-ups.

Barco and Getinge have built a strong partnership over the past seven years. Both companies have a wide expertise in bringing high-quality video and audio over IP into the operating room. Getinge will make use of Barco's Nexxis video-over-IP platform to launch its renewed Tegris operating room integration system.

Getinge's Tegris solution leverages the power of Nexxis for a wide range of operating rooms, says Hannes Schneider, Product Line Manager OR Integration at Getinge. This way, we can create a safe and effective OR environment, free from excess of cables or the need for several remotes. From endoscopes, microscopes, room cameras or feeds from outside the OR, Tegris offers a simple, unified way of managing all types and numbers of video sources. It also ensures quick and easy access to relevant patient images during surgery through easy-to-use interfaces and integration with hospital information systems.

Nexxis is Barco's video-over-IP solution specifically designed for the digital OR and enables sharing uncompressed, high-resolution video and audio in and between operating rooms or wards in a hospital. Nexxis is designed to be future proof, therefore is ready to integrate and new technologies as soon as they become available and the surgical teams needs them. In a nutshell, Nexxis scales with the customer's needs.

Today's ORs have become complex, highly technological environments, says Johan Fornier, VP of Surgical Imaging and Modality at Barco. By combining Nexxis with Getinge's Tegris solution, we provide the flexibility to adapt to different settings required for different types of surgery, from interventional rooms to hybrid ORs.
