Nation's first all-digital race

Lumenier hosted the nation's first all-digital race. Enabled by the pioneering ProSight HD wireless system SARASOTA, Fla. - August 27, 2016 - The sport of first person view (FPV) drone racing took a dramatic step forward this past weekend when Lumenier hosted the nation's first all-digital race. Enabled by the pioneering ProSight HD wireless system the competition saw 8 pilots compete simultaneously with HD systems for the first time.

We made history today at the Lumenier Royal Palm All Digital FPV race. The future of FPV is here now! proclaimed Tim Nilson, founder of Lumenier and GetFPV.com. All the pilots were blown away by the image quality and consistency, and the way the event went off is proof that digital HD is ready for prime time. The ProSight system will be a great way to expand the popularity of the sport and help these fantastic pilots become even more skillful and precise.

The event featured multiple heats of between 2-8 pilots at a time, as well as individual time trials that allowed pilots to truly push speed and precision flying to the limits. The image quality of the 8-pilot competition can be seen here.

Racing with HD is day and night compared to analog. The clarity of the image we see is like a watching GoPro footage - so detailed and clear that you can't help but be a better pilot. Combined with the flawless execution of the race from a technical standpoint, I'd say there's no turning back - it's an all-digital future for FPV racing, said Cody Code Red Matson.

Among the top ranked pilots competing were Abel Navihawk Almaguer (event winner), Cain Mad_Air FPV Madere (runner up), Mark Kablah Chirino (third place), Mackenna McFly McClure, Frank Real Eyes Mainade, Cody Code Red Matson, Nick WillardFpV Willard, and David Prime FPV 18.

The move to HD racing is well underway and this event underscores the enthusiasm for the benefits the ProSight system brings.
