FOX Entertainment Acquires Innovative Audio Drama Storyteller Meet Cute
POPULAR SCRIPTED PODCAST PLATFORM EXPANDS FOX'S MULTI-PLATFORM CONTENT STRATEGY, WHILE DEEPENING CREATOR INCUBATOR ECOSYSTEM AND CONSUMER REACH Acquisition to Support Content Pipeline for FOX's Recent Holywater Vertical Video Investment and HarperCollins Reciprocal First-Look Deal Los Angeles, CA - November 4, 2025 - FOX Entertainment today announced the acquisition of Meet Cute, the popular audio drama platform. The move further accelerates FOX Entertainment's long-term, platform-agnostic content strategy and expands its creator-driven entertainment ecosystem, combining technology, storytelling, and innovation to reach audiences wherever they are.
Innovation in digital storytelling is shaping the future of entertainment, and with Meet Cute, we're building a space where creators can move fast, take risks, and shape what's next, said Hannah Pillemer, Head of Scripted at FOX Entertainment Studios, who oversees Meet Cute. It's a creative lab for storytelling - developing and testing new voices and IP in real time and connecting bold emotionally resonant stories to audiences everywhere.
Known for its quick-to-market, trend-driven approach, Meet Cute's cinematic audio storytelling style has resonated with a growing audience of podcast fans everywhere. The platform's agile, cost-efficient production model makes it a valuable collaboration tool for FOX Entertainment Studios as it widens its storytelling reach, including recent announcements such as its innovative reciprocal first-look deal with HarperCollins Publishers and its investment in Holywater, a global leader in the exploding vertical video market. This creates a three-pronged ecosystem where IP can originate from any format - books, audio, or digital - and evolve seamlessly across media, while shortening traditional development cycles and allowing the studio to make data-informed decisions on what to scale into series, films, or multi-platform franchises.
The Meet Cute acquisition is another step in advancing FOX Entertainment's broader, long-term tech growth strategy and shaping its forward-looking model as a modern, next-gen entertainment studio. Founded in 2019 by Naomi Shah with investment from Union Square Ventures and Lerer Hippeau, Meet Cute quickly became a leading destination for high-quality, bite-sized scripted audio storytelling. The platform has released more than 200 hours of original programming, reaching over 2.5 million listeners globally. As part of FOX Entertainment, it will serve as a rapid-development content incubator, producing premium scripted and soon-to-launch unscripted series. Shah has joined FOX Entertainment as Senior Vice President, Operations & Strategy, where she will focus on AI innovation, entertainment technology, and IP expansion.
