Rohde & Schwarz and TRUMPF combine technological expertise for drone defense Rohde & Schwarz and TRUMPF have agreed on a strategic partnership to develop and deploy a comprehensive, sovereign counter-drone solution. The technology companies will pool their expertise to provide effective defense against the growing threat of unauthorized drones.

Unauthorized drones pose an increasing security risk: They penetrate protected areas, endanger the security of people and disrupt operations. Rohde & Schwarz and TRUMPF SE & Co. KG have therefore decided to effectively counter these new risks posed by unmanned objects with a joint, domestically manufactured anti-drone solution.

The technology companies, both leading in their fields, will combine existing technologies for this purpose. TRUMPF is market leader in machine tools and lasers for industrial manufacturing. With its solutions, Rohde & Schwarz enables a safer and connected world. A wide range of products for protecting critical infrastructure has been part of the company's portfolio for years. The collaboration combines the state-of-the-art counter-drone solution from Rohde & Schwarz and radar sensing with the innovative laser technology from TRUMPF. Rohde & Schwarz will integrate the TRUMPF high-energy laser system into a complete drone defense ecosystem that can effectively detect, track and neutralize unauthorized drones.
