Following the end of Mzansi Magic's hit soapie, The Queen on Friday 13 January, the executive producer of the show and actress Connie Ferguson has bid farewell to the cast and crew that made The Queen a success for 6 and a half seasons.

Reflecting on what the show did for her, Connie Ferguson said she was grateful that she was given an opportunity to produce a show that carried on for as long as it did because they were hoping for 5 seasons but got more than that.

THE QUEEN' WAS THE FERGUSON'S BIGGEST BREAK Taking to her Instagram on Friday to bid farewell to her show, Connie said, @mzansimagic Thank you for taking a chance on Sho and I, and giving us our 1st opportunity as producers with the first ever drama series on the platform ROCKVILLE .

A few other dramas followed after that, but THE QUEEN has been our biggest break so far! It allowed us to do what had been our greatest desire, to create employment for over 100 cast and crew for 6.5 years, giving our staff the opportunity to improve their lives and those of their families. So @multichoice_group @mzansimagic THANK YOU. , she said.

She then went on to thank the people that made the show possible and the success it was after so many years, @makwarelaphathu and Gwyd, my love for you knows no bounds. Thank you for being the best collaborators! We have walked quite the journey together, and should be proud of all that were able to achieve as a family and a team! Cheers to more in the future! .

CONNIE NEEDED HUSBAND ON LAST DAY The mother of two then shared her emotions with her late husband not being present to see the show they created come to an end.

Mr. Sho, this moment doesn't feel right without you here. I've had a lot of anxiety about this day and it's finally here. Even though in spirit I know you'll always be with me, today I just need YOU! In your physical form, to hold my hand and say baby, we did it. We had hoped for 5 years and we got 6.5. God is good. I am so happy I did this with you, all of it! You'll be proud of your team! They rocked it till the end! , she said.

Fans of Connie and of the show expressed their gratitude and gave the fitness bunny her flowers while she can still smell them.
