3D Artists Design Cars for GTA VI in a No-AI Rendering Challenge

3DModels.org has opened its annual Car Render Challenge, inviting 3D artists to model an original car for the world of GTA VI and present it in a fully 3D scene. The challenge is open until December 1, 2026.

Every participant receives a rigged 3D alligator model, ready for animation, which must appear in each scene as part of the playful Make Gator a Star! campaign. For the first time, artists can also compete in a dedicated Animation category with separate prizes. Awards go to the top three still renders and the best animation, with additional sponsor awards.

The rules focus on real craftsmanship. AI-generated content is not allowed at any stage, and every participant documents their modeling process in a public work-in-progress thread.

Entries will be judged by about 30 artists, educators and industry experts, including Jim Thacker (CG Channel), Gleb Alexandrov (Creative Shrimp), Zacharias Reinhardt (CGBoost) and TheCGBros. Twenty companies support the event, including Marmoset, Cascadeur, RizomUV and The Gnomon Workshop. Winners will be announced on December 15, 2026.
