
RT will deliver comprehensive coverage of Budget 2023 on Tuesday 27th September with extensive reporting and analysis across online, television and radio.
From early morning RTE.ie/news and the RT News App will carry comprehensive coverage of Budget 2023 with a live blog keeping track of all the latest information to help the audience make sense of what this crucial cost of living budget means for them. Followers of RT 's social media platforms can also submit budget questions to be answered in a live Q&A blog by financial experts, while RT 's shareable explainer video will tell the story of the budget in just 90 seconds.
Television coverage of Budget 2023 begins on RT One at 12.40pm as David McCullagh and Vivienne Traynor present live coverage and analysis of the Budget speech right through the afternoon. There will be reaction from politicians, representative bodies and organisations across the country via RT 's network of regional studios. Eileen Whelan will be getting the latest reaction from various interest groups and members of the public in Waterford and Portarlington will share their views. Live coverage of D il ireann proceedings across the day including responses from the opposition will be broadcast on the RT News channel from 1.00pm.
RT Radio 1 coverage of the budget speeches will be broadcast live on a special extended News at One with Bryan Dobson, beginning at 12.45pm until 3.30pm. The programme will carry the speeches of both Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Michael McGrath. The programme will also hear from the opposition and will feature immediate reaction and analysis.
Join Cormac hEadhra for a Drivetime Budget Special from 4.30pm, which will include interviews with Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe, and Sinn F in's Finance spokesperson Pearse Doherty. There will be more debate and analysis on Late Debate with Katie Hannon live from Buswells Hotel near Leinster House to get reaction from the political parties from 10pm.
RT Raidi na Gaeltachta programme L na C inaisn ise will feature budget coverage from 1.30 pm live from Leinster House. Panellists will include tax consultant Ciar n Feinneadha, finance expert Conall M r in, journalist ine N Chiar in, and RT RnaG Political Reporter Eoin Cath in. They will analyse the implications and likely political fallout of the decisions announced, and we'll hear reaction from public representatives from across the political spectrum as well. The analysis will continue on T s ite from 5pm, presented by Fachtna Drisceoil live from Leinster House. Panellists will include Ciar n Mac an Bhaird, Head of Fiontar and Scoil na Gaeilge in DCU, and Frank Allen, Infrastructure Advisor and Chairman of the Housing Finance Agency, and they will also be joined by government and opposition representatives for lively debate around the day's announcements.
Live streams from all of RT 's television and radio coverage will be available worldwide to users via RT Player and RT Radio Player.
Nuacht will produce two special hour-long programmes for TG4 on budget day. Buis ad 2023 begins on TG4 at 2pm with a panel of studio and remote guests sifting through and analysing the measures as they are announced. The second programme at 7pm will do a deeper dive into the implications of the budget for a whole range of different groups. The two programmes will be presented by Eimear N Chonaola and Beirn N Chuinn.
Nuacht RT le TG4 will also have a full Budget round-up in its bulletin at 5.40pm on RT One.
An extended Six One News will provide a comprehensive look at the Budget, live interviews, and analysis from RT correspondents along with reaction from politicians. Later in the evening there will be further coverage of budget measures and reaction on the Nine O'Clock News with Sharon N Bheol in followed by an hour-long Prime Time Budget Special at 9.40pm presented by Miriam O'Callaghan and Sarah McInerney will feature the first head-to-head debate with the Minister for Finance and Sinn Fein Finance Spokesperson in front of a live studio audience. The impact of Budget 2023 on Ireland's workers, families, business and the vulnerable will be analysed explained using real life cases.
On the morning after the budget, Claire Byrne will be joined in studio by Minister for Finance, Paschal Donohoe and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Michael McGrath for the annual budget phone in special. As always, Today with Claire Byrne invites listeners to phone in to speak with the Ministers directly and put their own questions to them about their concerns as a result of Budget 2023.
