Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, is still the talk of the town even more so after the release of the Duke of Sussex's best-selling memoir, Spare, on 10 January 2023.

BOMBSHELLS AND PERSONAL INFORMATION In his unflinching tell-all book, Prince Harry dropped one bombshell after another and according to sources, Netflix wants in on the deal. The streaming giant released the docuseries Harry & Meghan in December last year.

The Irish Sun reported that the Netflix is now interested in a fly-on-the-wall-style show filmed at the couple's $14.7 million (about R252.6 million) mansion in Montecito, in California.

According to the Los Angeles-based Netflix consultant who spoke to The US Sun:

Harry's memoir has certainly been a talking point, and while many may think that executives would be annoyed at the volume of revelations in Spare versus the show, in truth they were different scenarios.

The gloves are off now for Harry, and Netflix feels they are in prime position for a second project, the consultant said.

We know that the couple films material all the time, so there remains a treasure trove left, which could make for dynamite viewing. However, for such a deal to move forward, the couple would have to open up the doors of their Montecito home, the consultant continued.

MEGHAN AND HARRY NOT AFRAID TO OPEN UP Although viewers believed the six-part Netflix docuseries was filmed in the couple's home setting, it was later revealed the production team used another $33.5 million estate for filming, according to The Irish Sun.

The consultant further told The US Sun that some in the marketing team at Netflix were disappointed that Meghan and Harry did not go out on a media tour for the show. Harry's willingness to go on TV for Spare has raised eyebrows. But the hope is that they will promote future projects.

Harry & Meghan boasted a viewership record for a documentary when it was released on 3 December.

CNBC reports than viewers worldwide spent 81.55 million hours watching the first three episodes in the first four days they were available.

The couple's second project with Netflix, Live to Lead which premiered on 31 December sees Meghan and Harry present a series of interviews with world leaders and influencers, such as the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, environmental activist Greta Thunberg, and former New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern.

The project is a collaboration between the Nelson Mandela Foundation and production company Blackwell and Ruth, with Harry and Meghan's own Archewell Productions acting as co-producers, according to the Irish Sun.

Meghan's animated series for Netflix, Pearl, was cancelled in May 2022. According to reports it was canned due to budget cuts.
