ree featured towns in Ningbo selected as provincial demonstration towns

The featured town culture construction meeting was held in Hangzhou on December 6, when the list of the first 20 provincial featured town demonstrations was released, and the Hangzhou Bay Coastal Happy Holiday Town, the Forest Hotspring Town of Ninghai County and the Meishan Featured Town for Marine Finance of Beilun District were included in the list.

As is known, the Hangzhou Bay Coastal Happy Holiday Day has a planned area of 4.22 square kilometers and covers an area of 5369 mu. With its functions of "coastal-themed entertainment, cultural spreading and experience, and tourist holiday services", the town is to be built as a patriotic education base, leisure holiday resort for citizens and a new-style hacker space for cultural industry integrating industry, culture, tourism and community.

The Meishan Featured Town for Marine Finance attaches great importance to the cultural construction. Since 2009, the cultural construction expenses have accounted for over 3% of the local financial expenses of Meishan Port. In September 2013, the culture & sports complex was completed, with an area of 5500 square meters. Currently, there are cultural activity centers in all the administrative villages in Meishan Port, with 17 activity rooms for senior citizens and six farm libraries (with 7200 volumes of books). There is also a public library with over 18, 600 volumes, still growing with a speed of 2000 volumes each year. Besides, there are 18 sets of fitness instruments, six croquet courts, seven fitness parks for rural residents and six mountaintop squares.

With a planned area of 3.62 square kilometers, the Forest Hotspring Town is located in the Shenzhen Town of Ninghai County, about 20 kilometers away from the town center. In recent years, the hotspring town has accelerated its transfer from an industrial town to an ecological tourist town, with the completion of the "industrial development planning for the forest hotspring town". With an estimated investment of 1.1 billion yuan for this year, the town is promoting such major tourist projects as the Mass Hotspring Holiday Inn, the Heart Hotspring Resort Center, the Hotspring Culture and Art Village and the tourist distribution center. Other related "hotspring + culture" activities include the hotspring mountain marathon race and the hotspring fitness cuisine. The town will invest 89 million yuan to build the "nostalgia culture belt" economy. In addition, as the "capital for alpenstocks" in China, the town will continue to improve the quality of its alpenstock products. It is hoped that in three years, the total output value of the industry will exceed two billion yuan, and it will account for 80% of the domestic market shares and 70% of the international market.

Reportedly, the demonstration featured towns will strengthen the cultural heritage protection and inheritance, protect and propagate traditional culture, protect cultural and historic relics, and pass down valuable traditional folk customs and cultural customs. The public cultural services for the featured towns will be improved to create the cultural and art atmosphere and lead to the public cultural service system of the local areas. The featured towns will accelerate industrial integration, develop featured cultural products and promote the integrated development of cultural tourism and cultural creativity industry.
