Simplylive Intros Vibox Production System

Simplylive is making its presence known in the industry with the official release of the Vibox, their All-in-One Production system, a single system that brings together all the major components of live production including a video switcher, audio mixer, graphics and replay/highlights with an intuitive full touchscreen control interface designed for a single operator.

The Simplylive Vibox is the company's first product and an all-in-one production solution.

We have seen the industry struggling to find a balance given the demand for more content, multiple delivery platforms, diminished TV ratings, growing budget constraints with the need to deliver all this content at the same professional quality to the viewer, said Simplylive Managing Director Luc Doneux. Our Vibox platform changes the landscape and offers a solution that allows the same final broadcast product with a dramatically reduced budget. The touchscreen interface makes the learning curve extremely easy and allows for a host of new talent to learn about creating live productions.

The first Vibox release is designed for a six-camera production with both a clean and dirty video output. Additionally, all input sources and both the clean/dirty programs are recorded on the system in broadcast grade codecs. The live switching, replays, graphics and audio is controlled from the single touchscreen interface and there is also intuitive, user-defined automation integrated into the operation of the software. That allows many of the common effects and transitions to be triggered from presets based on the actions of the operator.

The Vibox has flexible configurations for graphics depending on the resources available and demands of the production. For example, the Vibox can interface with live graphics systems through NDI protocol as well import graphic files. The system's built-in CG allows for multiple graphics layers.

Vibox8 is the first of the Vibox family of products. In subsequent releases additional cameras and features will be added as well as second and third touchscreen stations allowing multiple operators to drive the system.
