Movistar Arena benefits from audio upgrades with Argentina's largest ever

Movistar Argentina is a 15,000-seat capacity indoor arena. Opened in 2019, it is situated in the cultural hub of Villa Crespo, an area renowned for its dance halls, artists and poets. It is one of Argentina's finest music venues, and great pride is taken in its spectacular sound system.

Walter Logarzo, Marketing Manager for EQUAPHON was excited to be part of the team looking after the configuration of the install. The company is DiGiCo's distributor in Argentina and has supported many large installs across the region, including stadiums and high-end venues. The Movistar install was a true first for Argentina, delivering the power of Quantum consoles plus the interoperability of multiple DMI cards, ensuring the venue is ready for anything.

This upgrade in the audio systems at the Movistar Arena aims to provide the very best environment for international touring, he explains. The arena is one of Latin America's leading entertainment centres and will now be one of the best-equipped venues in the region.

The Quantum consoles bring the power of DiGiCo's FGPA platform to the Movistar Arena with the upgrades delivering not only a superior sound experience for audience members, but also optimising operational flexibility, benefitting artists and engineers, too. The consoles are connected via three 32-bit SD-Racks and a 32-bit SD-MiNi Racks. They are also maxed out with DiGiCo's DMI interfaces, including two MADI C cards, two Dante cards and two AES/EBU cards, optimising connectivity across multiple network protocols.

As Logarzo notes, the decision to purchase DiGiCo has been a considered choice for the venue and one that will not only keep it up-to-date for international artists, but also future-proof the audio setup, bringing a return on their investment for years to come.

With this implementation, Movistar Arena reaffirms its commitment to technological innovation and sound excellence, he concludes. The collaboration with DiGiCo and EQUAPHON strengthens a strategic alliance aimed at continuing to drive the evolution of professional audio in Latin America.

It is a sentiment that is shared by Leo Aspra, MAHLER group's technical manager, who was instrumental in the installation of the DiGiCo Quantum consoles.
