CSN Bay Area, California Name David Koppett VP of Content Strategy

CSN Bay Area and CSN California announced that veteran sports media executive David Koppett has been named Vice President of Content Strategy. Koppett, previously Senior Executive Producer of Live Events for CSN Bay Area and CSN California since 2008, has more than three decades of local sports production and programming experience. The announcement was made by Tom Stathakes, Senior Vice President and General Manager of CSN Bay Area and CSN California.

In the newly created role, Koppett will lead the network's comprehensive portfolio of live events, news, original content, programming and digital media, including its online, mobile and social assets. He will develop and advance an integrated content, production and distribution strategy, and guide content-related research, innovation and advertising sales. Koppett will also oversee the development of talent across all platforms.

David has played a vital role in growing CSN Bay Area and CSN California into one of the most successful regional sports networks in the country. Koppett, a multiple Emmy Award winner, managed the production of nearly 600 live telecasts annually on CSN Bay Area and CSN California, including MLB's San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's, NBA's Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings, NHL's San Jose Sharks and MLS's San Jose Earthquakes. Son of Leonard Koppett, baseball and basketball Hall of Fame sportswriter, Koppett began his television career in 1986 working on Giants baseball. His association with the network began in 1990, during the launch of SportsChannel Pacific (now CSN).

A lifelong Bay Area sports fan, Koppett was born in New York City and raised in Palo Alto, CA. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in speech in 1989.
