Goam Viewers Verdict: Finale Was Crazy

Love accounted for an overwhelming 37.1% of all Emotional Reactions (ERs) throughout the second season of Fox fan favorite Gotham, according to Canvs, the social-emotion analytics company. Monday night, the second season finale sparked 57.4% of all ERs for the day on the network, solidifying fans feelings for the Batman spin-off. Canvs took a closer look at the episode to gauge fans emotional response around the episode.

Canvs detected 7,035 Emotional Reactions (ERs) out of 25,583 tweets captured by Nielsen, with the main ERs falling into the good (15.7%), excited (14.7%), crazy (11.7%), weird (4.4%) and funny (3.7%) categories, with love dominating at 35.1% (vs. 9.5% dislike and 5.3% hate ).

In the opening moments of the show there was a spike in excited, accounting for 43.5% of all ERs in the first five minutes of the episode, with 45.2% mentioning finale.

During the night, 27.5% of all tweets about Gotham expressed some sort of emotion, with 2,959 unique reacting authors. A critical mass of the shows viewers are dedicated to sharing their thoughts about the show, with 27.4% of those who tweeted about the previous episode returning to tweet about last nights airing.

The closing moments of the finale saw a spike in crazy, accounting for 22.3% of all ERs in the final five minutes. With the finale continuing to send viewers into a Twitter frenzy, and the Joker teaser at the end of the episode, fans are already growing impatient for season 3.

Oh my lord, Season 3 of #Gotham is gonna be nutso with that ending.
