Tourism economy blooms in Hangzhou Bay New Zone

As a popular destination for tourism at the Yangtze River Delta area, Hangzhou Bay New Zone has witnessed brisk tourism during the May Day holiday. Statistics show that during the holiday, the new zone received 97,191 visits, and the tourist revenue reached 12.2291 million yuan, up by 79.84% over the same period of last year, including 10.5759 million yuan for ticket sales, ranking No.1 among all the scenic areas of the whole city. Among others, the newly opened Fangte Oriental Heritage Park ranked No.1 among all the scenic spots with 36,815 visits and a ticket revenue of 6.88 million yuan.

With various activities and evening parties on three consecutive days, the Fangte Oriental Heritage Park has successfully extended its opening time. With the experience activities, themed performance and precise marketing methods, the park has established an efficient profit model.

With the coming of the summer days, the Happy Island Water World was open on April 30. In the water palace, tourists can enjoy the water tracks, fountains and waterfalls. Statistics show that on May 1 the island received over 7,000 visits. Besides, the Hangzhou Bay National Wetland Park, the Haitian Yizhou spot and the hot-spring world were also popular places for the tourists.

Besides the scenic areas, the hotels of the new zone have also seen brisk business. On the first day of the holiday, the renting rates of the Hengyuan Hotel and the Century Jinyuan Hotel reached 99% and 96% respectively.

"After the holiday, we will start the bird-viewing festival from April 8 on the wetland park, that means we will be busy for the whole month." said a person in charge from the Hangzhou Bay New Zone Tourism Bureau. The wetland park will then launch the special bird-viewing routes on its online platforms.
