NetApp FlashAdvantage 3-4-5 Makes the All-Flash Data Center a Reality Guaranteed performance and efficiency combined with extended lifecycles reduces risk of flash adoption for customers
Sunnyvale, CA - May 31, 2016 - NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) today announced the FlashAdvantage 3-4-5 program, which includes the industry's only guaranteed efficiency reduction of 4:1. This program combined with the company's new 15TB solid state drives (SSDs) makes flash the ideal workload consolidation platform for customers' infrastructure needs.
The adoption of flash is most often dependent on the total cost of ownership to the customer said Camberley Bates, managing partner and analyst at Evaluator Group. Programs such as the FlashAdvantage 3-4-5 will help users justify the economic value of flash as they look at effective capacity applied to SSDs that are far larger than today's biggest capacity hard disk drives.
New high capacity drives and the downward pricing trends of flash technologies are changing the expectations and economics of enterprise IT, said Lee Caswell, vice president, Product, Solutions and Services Marketing at NetApp. Our FlashAdvantage 3-4-5 is designed to remove barriers to flash adoption so customers can realize the promise of an all flash data center-simply, affordably, and without risk.
When customers choose a NetApp All Flash FAS system, the company will offer a guaranteed total effective storage capacity ratio of at least 4:1, with associated remedies in the event the guarantee is not met.

4:1 Guaranteed Efficiency - Reduce required useable storage capacity by at least 4:1 with NetApp all-flash storage. Combined with the industry's first 15TB SSDs customers can fit more than 1PB of data in a single shelf of storage.
