Bollywood comes to Madrid to present the awards of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Three Gala will be held from 23 to 26 June and within the IIFA-MADRID 2016: the delivery of the Bollywood Awards, IIFA Rocks musical gala, and a third gala, IIFA Stomp, an exhibition of urban trends.
As already said, Audiovisual panorama the last week, from 23 to 26 June, Madrid will host all the Bollywood industry with the celebration in the city of annual awards that delivers the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA). The city will live an international spectacle that goes beyond the delivery of film awards and which covers the world of music, fashion, culture and the strengthening of the links between Madrid and India.
The Mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena, has been in charge of presenting the 17th edition of the IIFA Weekend and Awards along with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ignacio Yb ez, the Director of the office of culture and tourism of the community of Madrid, Anunciada Fern ndez de C rdova, CEO of TourEspa a, Marta Blanco and the Ambassador of India, Vikram Misri. Also in the presentation have participated the director of the IIFA, Andr Timmins, director of Wizcraft International (organizers), Sabbas Joseph and three Bollywood stars: Sonakshi Sinha, Anil Kapoor (Slumdog Millionaire) and Hrithik Roshan.
Weekend IIFA-MADRID 2016
IIFA-MADRID 2016, which will be held in IFEMA, will consist of three galas: the IIFA Green Carpet and Awards, the ceremony of awards, IIFA Rocks music gala, featuring the best artists of the Indian music industry, a third gala, called IIFA Stomp & Rang Jam: which consists of an exhibition of urban trends (electronic music (, fashion,...).
In addition, weekend has rigged the call for a Global Business Forum organized by the Federation of Chambers of Indian Commerce (FICCI, for its acronym in English) and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain.
The Mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena, has ensured that "the Bollywood awards gala to be held in Madrid is very important to this city." It is another step in our goal to put Madrid on the international scene. The set of activities to be held during the weekend of the event shall be our city, in the near future, setting for filming of Bollywood, it will serve, on the one hand, to create jobs and, on the other, to build bridges between the Indian industry of cinema with the Spanish and the Spanish-American. It is provided at the same time an excellent opportunity promote Madrid in a tourism market as broad as it is the Indian".
The actress and two Bollywood actors who have participated in the presentation, Sonakshi Sinha, Anil Kapoor (Slumdog Millionaire) and Hrithik Roshan, have taken advantage of his trip to Madrid to perform some promotional videos of the capital, with which, during the next few months and through a wide tourist campaign, will be shown to the audience of the India some of the most emblematic places in Madrid.
Impact of the Gala
The IIFA awards are a global claim, able to attract to the city thousands of tourists. According to forecasts, based on the study of previous editions, expected the visit of 15,000 people, which will mean an economic impact exceeding 10 million euros which revert directly in the city.

Given the power of tourist prescription of cinema, the IIFA awards represent the best letter of Madrid for a market of 1,300 million people. Within India, a middle class of 300 million people with every time there are more financial resources to undertake international travel.
The weekend of IIFA-MADRID 2016 is relayed to 127 countries, with a potential audience of 800 million viewers. Not only during the celebration of the corresponding events but also deferred, on two more occasions: Diwali (November) and Christmas.
