PESA Earns New JITC Certification for Video Distribution System

PESA, a leading designer and manufacturer of streaming, routing, and AV integration products, today announced the U.S. Department of Defense has renewed the companys certification of its Video Distribution System (VDS) solution for command and control operating environments for three years. The renewal, which already included several Cheetah large-scale digital routers, includes a new certification under the Unified Capabilities Requirements (UCR) 2013 standards that adds PESA 4K I/O cards. PESA will showcase its VDS solution at the 2015 Government Video Expo (Booth 329), which runs Dec. 2-3 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

The VDS solution received Information Assurance (IA) certification from Field Security Operations (FSO) and Interoperability (IO) certification from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC), which certifies joint and combined interoperability of all DoD information technology and national security systems. PESA received its initial JITC certification in January 2013, and was the first company to achieve listing on the Department of Defense Unified Capabilities (UC) Approved Products List (APL) as a VDS. The new certification is valid through Oct. 21, 2018.

JITC certification is critical for DoD officials, because it assures them they can rely on PESA products to deliver high-quality imagery for C4ISR between distinct video chains, explained Col. John T. Wright (U.S. Army, Retired), PESA senior vice president, sales and business development. This new certification also allows PESA to add 4K video distribution to command and control centers for all branches of our military and other federal agencies.

Already deployed by NASA and branches of the U.S. military, PESAs closed VDS system includes several products in its Cheetah large-scale digital router product line, as well as remote control panels and media conversion and extender modules. In 2014, the DoD approved upgrades to the VDS solution, including PESAs Vidblox 2K DVI dual link extenders, which provide an inexpensive multi-path transport solution for ultra high-resolution graphics over coax and/or fiber.
