National Geographic Channel Teams with Scott Free Productions on Killing Patton

Washington, D.C. - Nov. 24, 2015. National Geographic Channel (NGC) today announced the network is continuing its successful partnership with Scott Free Productions to produce the on-screen version of Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard's Killing Patton. Killing Patton focuses on the strange death of World War II's most audacious general and will be adapted by screenwriter Anthony Peckham (Sherlock, Invictus) to air globally on National Geographic Channel in 171 countries and 45 languages.

Scott Free Productions and National Geographic Channels have done a brilliant job bringing to life the towering historical figures in my Killing series, and I'm very confident our continued partnership will yield a gripping film about General Patton's tragic death, said author Bill O'Reilly. Tapping into some of Hollywood's best and brightest in front of and behind the camera has worked tremendously well for the film adaptations so I look forward to seeing this approach continue our winning streak with the franchise.

In Killing Patton, published by Henry Holt and Company, O'Reilly and Dugard explore how the United States Army General, George S. Patton, Jr., died in mysterious circumstances shortly after the end of World War II. In the same riveting fashion that made best-sellers of the previous installments in the Killing franchise, the four-hour scripted film will explore the final year of the war and recount the events surrounding Patton's suspicious demise, which may have been an assassination by any number of powerful individuals who wanted him silenced.

With their unique historical insights, absorbing narratives and A-list talent on screen and behind the scenes, the Killing films have proven must-see hits with audiences all over the world. Killing Patton will begin production in 2016, following the recently announced collaboration between National Geographic Channel and Scott Free Productions on Killing Reagan, which will air globally in 2016. Previous installments in the franchise, Killing Lincoln, Killing Kennedy and Killing Jesus, were the network's three most watched programs in the US, and the latter two were Emmy-nominated in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Killing Patton is based on the book by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard. The film will be produced for National Geographic Channels by Scott Free Productions. Executive Producers are Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Mary Lisio and Bill O'Reilly. Co-execute producer is Clayton Krueger.
