Details announced of workshop and seminars at Music Expo Nashville, September 21

Manufacturers, producers and music business executives included in programme

Music Expo Nashville takes place at the SAE Institute in Music City on Saturday September 21st.

In association with Sound On Sound, Music Expo, the multi-city conference series for music creatives, has announced details of some of the seminars and workshops that will be taking place at their next event, which is being held at the SAE Institutes Nashville college on Saturday September 21 (see the original SOS announcement). Theres the usual enticing mixture of production workshops led by award-winning producers and engineers, music business seminars chaired by key record company executives and equipment-focused demo and technical sessions run by leading hardware and software companies. The music producers process, studio and community

Developing a vocal identity in the studio

Producer/Engineer Jonell Polansky reveals how to obtain the best-possible vocal performances in the studio, and how to help artists create a unique vocal sound.

Artist branding and marketing

Top music executives (Valerie Pensa and Shani Fuller Tillman of RCA Records, Gina Miller of Entertainment One and Peggy Dold of CEO Navigation Partners) discuss the differences between branding and marketing and how they relate to the development of your artist career or producer brand.

Grammy-nominated producer Matt Leigh hosts a series of three workshops to cover arranging and recording for strings, brass and woodwind, and vocals, right down to equipment choices, mic placements, processing and mixing

Desert island gear: mastering edition

Infrasonic Mastering Engineers Pete Lyman, Dave Gardner, Daniel Bacigalupi, and Piper Payne look at the mastering tools they can't live without, demystifying lathes, speakers, transfer consoles, and the mastering room itself.
