Two shows only! Irish pop star Ronan Keating coming to SACelebrated Irish singer Ronan Keating will be touring South Africa in March. Here's where and when to book your tickets.

Popular Irish pop star and former Boyzone member Ronan Keating is set to wow South African fans in March this year when he will perform at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on Friday 3 March and at SunBet Arena, in Time Square, Pretoria, on Sunday 5 March.

Tickets for Keating's two South African shows will go on sale at 09:00 on Wednesday 25 January through Webtickets.

Throughout the years, the global singing sensation has played a pivotal role in raising funds for South African charities alongside golf legend Gary Player, spearheaded by specialist wealth management company Citadel.

To date, Keating and Player have raised R5 million to benefit vulnerable South African children. This year, Keating has added two public South African concert dates to his touring schedule.

Boyzone days and Colin Farrell's terrible tunes' Singer, songwriter, broadcaster, TV presenter, actor, philanthropist Ronan Keating has certainly made the most of his multifaceted career to make a difference in the world via his charity work.

Keating's music career started in 1993 when he reacted on a newspaper advert to audition for a brand-new Irish boyband, Boyzone. Almost 30 years later, the singer has successfully carved out his solo career following his boyband beginnings.

In an interview with Metro, The Voice Kids UK judge recalled how actor Colin Farrell and The Script singer Danny O'Donoghue also hoped to bag spots in the boyband at the time.

Colin Farrell was there, and Danny from The Script. There were loads of cats that are now successful, Keating remarked.

Farrell previously opened up about auditioning for Boyzone, revealing on The Late Late Show in Ireland that he was spotted doing some nifty footwork in a nightclub by Louis Walsh.

At the auditions, the Irish actor was reportedly told that it was simply a formality until they heard him sing!

Ronan Keating goes solo In August of 2000, her released his self-titled debut album which shot straight to No 1 on the UK Album Charts. It boasted no less than two No 1 singles: When You Say Nothing At All (August 1999) and Life Is A Rollercoaster (July 2000). It went on to sell a very impressive 4.4 million copies around the world and firmly established Keating as an artist in his own right.

His follow-up solo album, Destination, (which includes the number one single If Tomorrow Never Comes), was released on the 20 May 2002 and went straight to No 1.

To coincide with the release of Destination, Keating kicked off a year-long world tour starting with a sell-out Arena tour in the United Kingdom. Between May 2002 and May 2003, he toured the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, the Gulf, India and South East Asia.

In August 2004, Ronan Keating - 10 Years Of Hits hit the airwaves to celebrate Ronan's first decade in the music industry.

The album went straight to No 1 and to date has sold nearly 2.5 million copies worldwide. Keating got together with Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) to record a version of Father and Son, which charted at No 2 on Christmas Day 2004.

The track has always been close to the singer's heart as he had originally enjoyed success with it in 1995 when Boyzone released it as a single and it was actually the song he sang at his Boyzone audition!

In June 2006, Keating released Bring You Home which spawned the hit singles All Over Again and Iris.

Boyzone reunion song In March 2009, Keating reunited with Boyzone for the release of his special album to celebrate Mother's Day, Songs For My Mother.

The album was a collection of songs that Ronan remembered his mother, Marie, listening to when he was growing up.

The album was a huge success both critically and commercially, giving Ronan his eighth No 1 album in the UK, topping the charts for two consecutive weeks. The album also reached the top spot in Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

More solo success Ronan followed this up later that year with his seventh studio album, the critically acclaimed, Winter Songs. Released in November 2009, it again saw him teaming up with Steve Lipson to record 11 songs that evoke Christmas and winter for the singer.

February 2016, saw Keating join a new label, Decca, and with his 10th studio album, Time of My Life, which saw the singer take on more songwriting than before.

Inspired by his time on stage in Once, where playing the guitar daily re-kindled his love of songwriting, Ronan worked closely with musician Dan Healy (whom he met during the Once run) and others to write most of the songs on the album.
