Rohde & Schwarz test package for G and 4G interoperability succefully validated by SoftBank

Munich | 11/09/2015 | Test & Measurement Rohde & Schwarz test package for 3G and 4G interoperability successfully validated by SoftBank Rohde & Schwarz Japan announced that an interoperability and validation testing package developed jointly with SoftBank Corporation successfully passed SoftBank's validation test. SoftBank, a major network operator in Japan, will use the test package to conduct 3G and 4G interoperability tests with device manufacturers. Rohde & Schwarz and SoftBank have been partners in creating customized test solutions for several years. The new test package from Rohde & Schwarz operates on the R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester, which has been selected by SoftBank for conducting interoperability and validation tests. The test package is a comprehensive solution customized for the internal certification labs of wireless device and chipset manufacturers, as well as for test houses. It carries out RF, protocol, and RRM interoperability tests between products developed by different manufacturers and the 3G and 4G networks provided by SoftBank. The departments at SoftBank that develop the company's own unique products also use this test solution.

Rohde & Schwarz previously provided SoftBank with the R&S TS8980FTA, an RF/RRM evaluation device, and now this more sophisticated test solution. Overall, users benefit from the technological expertise of Rohde & Schwarz in the field of mobile communications and also the global sales and service networks supported by test and measurement experts. Rohde & Schwarz continues to enhance and develop test packages for interoperability and validation tests in collaboration with SoftBank.
