ELEAGUE Debuts on Twitch From Turner Sports New eSports Arena

eSports is set to take its latest bow with a major media company as the much-hyped ELEAGUE debuts today at Noon ET on the eSports streaming platform, Twitch, before making its cable television debut on TBS on Friday night.

ELEAGUE Promises To Set High Bar on Live eSports Production

Turner Sports, who is partnering with WME | IMG, is also welcoming on-site fans and online viewers to its sparkling new 10,000 square foot arena built from scratch just for the eSports property. Twenty-six cameras are deployed throughout the facility, including 12 locked on point-of-view perspectives of each player and a JitaCam, which is suspended from the ceiling and is capable of capturing 360-degree angles of the full event floor.

Turner has also invested in building a custom eSports office space which houses a full-service creative production organization with six studios and more than 75 post-production suites.

ELEAGUE is a global competition showcasing some of the best teams around the world and we're committed to providing best-in-class coverage across all platforms in all countries, said Craig Barry, EVP and Chief Content Officer, Turner Sports. This global approach to distributing eSports content is reflective of the worldwide community that so passionately supports it.

This debut season of ELEAGUE will feature 24 teams facing off an a competition on the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The tournament will culminate with a Global Championship held Saturday, July 30, and an overall purse of $1.4 million on the line.

The fan base is a very passionate one and digital and TV coverage will not only showcase the excitement and thrills of the games, but also help grow the audience and raise awareness of eSports around the world.

ELEAGUE coverage continues on Twitch, with week-long live event action continuing Wednesday, May 25, at 12 p.m. and Thursday, May 26, at 2 p.m. across the popular digital platform. Friday, May 27, will mark the debut of ELEAGUE on TBS with a special showcase beginning at10 p.m., with simultaneous coverage available via Twitch.
