By the same author of Brazil Avenue,' thriller set in Rio de Janeiro is featured in Cannes
The final episode of Rules of the Game' aired on Friday, March 11, with a lot of suspense, excitement, and unpredictable outcomes. It got more than 42 million viewers. Of every ten televisions that were turned on, seven were tuned in the outcome of the telenovela, which brought sharp dialogues, fast-paced scenes, and the revelation of great mysteries. A trademark of Jo o Emanuel Carneiro, author of the worldwide phenomenon Brazil Avenue.' The telenovela, which deals with the fine line between good and evil, is one of Globo's highlights for the 2016 MIPTV
The protagonist of Rules of the Game' Romero R mulo (Alexandre Nero, Empire' and Looks & Essence'), is a former-politician of dubious character who, despite being regarded as hero of the people, is behind a powerful criminal faction. Constantly straddling the border between right and wrong, Romero becomes involved with humble T ia (Vanessa Gi como, Empire') and with ambitious Athena (Giovana Antonelli, The Clone' and Brave Woman'), who falls in love with Romero and is capable of anything to defend him.
Besides the well crafted plot, which mixes adventure, romance, and humor, Rules of the Game' introduces a revolutionary telenovela shooting technique that contributes to bring viewers even closer to fiction: the Scenic Box'. Created after two years of studies involving various areas at Globo, the technique relies on 360-degree sets, closed and adapted to allow cameras to be integrated with them. There are more cameras in action, positioned in different and unusual set points, such as behind mirrors, pillars, and windows. Others are hidden and not even the actor in scene knows where they are. Everything is made so the audience feels that what is being seen could be real. The Scenic Box,' developed at Globo Studios, takes another qualitative leap in telenovela production.
The cast of Rules of the Game' includes starts such as Susana Vieira and B rbara Paz ( Trail of Lies'), Cau Reymond ( Brazil Avenue'), Tony Ramos ( The Party'), Marco Pigossi ( Gabriela'), Renata Sorrah ( Her Own Destiny'), and Jos de Abreu ( Brazil Avenue), among others.
Globo will be located at the P0.A1 stand during the 2016 MIPTV.
