Jessica Mauboy said:

This has become one of the greatest moments of joy and pride in my life - I loved every minute and felt the support of Australia every step of the way.

SBS Managing Director Michael Ebeid said:

With her powerhouse vocals and electric energy on stage, Jessica made waves with her Grand Final performance and showcased what Australia is made of. Congratulations - we're so proud to see yet another Australian deliver a world-class performance.

United in a common passion for music, Eurovision shares the same values as SBS of celebrating diversity and, for 35 years, we've been bringing the contest to homes across our diverse country. Australia's unique affection and passion for Eurovision continues to grow and we look forward to doing it again next year.

Australian Head of Delegation Paul Clarke said:

It was disappointing that we didn't score higher with the public vote, as by any standards Jessica was one of the best singers of the night.

I'm very proud of her, she couldn't have represented us better, and I thank her for her generosity of spirit.

In my eyes and the eyes of Australia she was a total winner, a total star.

SBS's primetime Grand Final broadcast airs tonight at 7.30pm AEST on SBS. Myf Warhurst and Joel Creasey will be in the commentary booth to guide viewers through all the acts in the Grand Final, and will also report backstage with exclusive interviews, gossip with contestants and a behind the scenes look at the contest.
