SailGP Announces Broadcast Extensions with Globo and BandSports in Brazil for 2026 Season

Brazilian broadcaster Globo has returned as the official broadcast partner of the Rolex SailGP Championship in Brazil for the 2026 season.

Latin America's largest media company will cover all events of the 2026 season on sportv, including live coverage of the Enel Rio Sail Grand Prix from April 11-12, when Rio de Janeiro hosts the first SailGP event in South America.

As part of the agreement, SailGP and Globo will continue working together to promote the championship and the Mubadala Brazil SailGP team across all of Globo's media platforms, including news reports on TV Globo and sportv, editorial and social media coverage, on-air promotional spots, and a comprehensive suite of highlights and replays.

BandSports, which has broadcast SailGP since 2021, will also continue its live and highlights coverage for the 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship. These two broadcasters will offer fans in Brazil distribution of what will be SailGP's most comprehensive season to date, spanning five continents.

During the 2025 season, SailGP's dedicated global broadcast audience soared to nearly 215 million, averaging 18 million viewers per event, inclusive of Brazil's audience during its first season in SailGP.

The Rolex SailGP Championship, co-founded by Larry Ellison and Sir Russell Coutts in 2018, is an annual global championship in iconic cities around the world, redefining the sport of sailing with its close-to-shore stadium racing. The 2026 season will continue with the KPMG Sydney Sail Grand Prix broadcast on sportv on Feb. 28 and March 1, during which SailGP teams will race in identical 50-foot foiling catamarans faster than wind speeds over 100 kilometers per hour.
