The Charleston, SC, native has excelled as a live-camera operator on Tigers broadcasts
In the live-sports-video industry, the future is bright. Our series SVG Students To Watch highlights the next generation of live-sports-production professionals. Across campuses nationwide, students are playing a pivotal role in bringing their schools' games to fans - from running cameras and graphics to sitting in the producer's or director's chair and everything in between. This series shines a light on the young talent making an impact today and preparing to shape the future of sports-video production.
Noah Boudolf
College: Clemson University
Academic Year: Junior
Hometown: Charleston, SC
Roles: Camera Operator, Technical Director, Utility
What drew you to live sports production, and how did you get started?
I had been a lifelong Clemson fan and was referred to Clemson Video by a few family friends from home. I never had a particular interest in broadcast work but always tuned in to any Clemson broadcast, regardless of where it was shown. I got started on move-in day my freshman year, before classes had started. I learned how to build a camera and shadowed a soccer game that night. From that point on, I was excited by the idea and believed I could be good in a variety of roles if I put in the time.

During my freshman year, there was a baseball game where one of my shots was used in a review to determine if a runner was out or safe when stealing second base. Realizing not just that I had contributed for a replay but that having the proper shot at the right time was able to make an impact on the game made me realize the importance and excited me to continue being a camera operator.

The 2025 Duke vs. Clemson basketball game at Clemson. It was a very anticipated matchup, and [basketball announcer] Dick Vitale returned after a few years away to call the game. The atmosphere was incredible, and the stakes felt high, being a camera operator for the ESPN production crew in town. The combination of the Clemson win being one of the biggest in program history and seeing the viewership numbers gave me an unforgettable moment. It made me feel the impact of the work I had done, being seen by millions of people, live and in the moment.

Balancing the demanding schedule of broadcasts throughout the semester with classes. The nature of prep needed for broadcasts is sometimes tricky to weave around a class schedule and still ensure there is time for homework and studying. I try to be a part of as many shows as possible, which has helped me become a much better planner and understand how to allocate time efficiently. There have been more times I have crammed for exams after late broadcasts than I would like to admit, but I can usually pull the excitement from the broadcast to get me through studying.

After graduation, I want to continue my career in sports, specifically in the licensing or collectibles industry. I am a huge collector of trading cards and want to do something on the consumer-products side of the sports world. I have also not closed myself off to the idea of continuing in broadcasting, but I will figure out wherever life takes me.
What advice would you give to your freshman self?
I would tell my freshman self not to change a thing. I would tell him that keeping the say yes to everything mentality was absolutely worth it. Having that attitude helped me find a footing at school and gave me the best college job I could imagine. I think my freshman self wouldn't understand exactly how I got into broadcasting or how important it is to me now, but the journey over the last few years would prove why.
