ARRI at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival For the fourth year in a row ARRI supports the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, one of the most prestigious Chinese-language film awards events in Asia.
On 22 November, during the 2016 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival in Taiwan, ARRI was pleased to co-host an exclusive dinner party after the screening of GODSPEED, one of the Best Feature Film nominees. Despite heavy rain, some 200 guests attended, among them the films director and lead actor, directors and crew members from other nominated productions, investors and distributors not only from Taiwan but all over Asia, and -- most importantly -- ARRIs local friends and clients.
At the entrance, ARRIs latest equipment was showcased in a simulated movie set scene: an ALEXA SXT equipped with Master Anamorphic lens was on display, alongside a SkyPanel S120 LED soft light. The party itself was illuminated by SkyPanel S60-C fixtures, which added to the celebratory mood with a vibrant display of color.
The Golden Horse Awards ceremony is a highly respected event in Chinese-language markets. In this years competition three out of five Best Feature Film nominees used ARRI cameras: GODSPEED, TRIVISIA and I AM NOT MADAME BOVARY. In the Best Cinematography category DETECTIVE CHINATOWN and GODSPEED were captured with ALEXA, while CROSSCURRENT was shot with ARRI 35 mm film cameras. When the winners were announced on 24 November, DP Mark Ping-Bing Lee bagged the Best Cinematography prize for CROSSCURRENT, marking his eighth Golden Horse Award.
